You will find a common theme amongst the most wealthy and successful Americans. As they age, the idea that contributing in helping their fellow man, is the highest and best use of their time and resources. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie.. and many other great human beings. There is no reason to wait until late your life, to discover the same truths of the most financially successful among us have made evident. I’ve had the good fortune of some success in my life, I’ve come to the conclusion that the amount of money it takes to live within the 90th percentile of the benefits possible with money, is much lower than people think. For example, the best notebook computer in the world usually costs less than $5,000. Doesn’t matter whether you have one million hundred million $4 billion in the bank the best laptop in the world is still only $5,000. The same goes for cars, a vehicle that outperforms Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, and other exotic cars can be had for less than $50,000 used, and les than $75,000 new. (Corvette Z06, Mitsubishi EVO, Subaru WRX…). You can have all the money in the world but is a very good chance that that unsuspecting car to your left will make you the dust, regardless of how much you spent on your exotic.

Mind you, buying things that are expensive and beautiful, for their rarity and form has great value, and few people would kick an exotic car out of their garage. The moral of the story is, our world abounds with examples of diminishing returns. Perfumes will not double and quality, food will not double and quality, cars probably will not double and quality, and the same goes for orgasms. Life is already very very good, and the better it gets the harder subjective increases in value or performance are to achieve. This is great news because it means that every year those of us at the bottom of the social and economic ladders are closer and closer to the pinnacle of what is financially possible. The distance between the best and the worst as far as goods and services are concerned becomes smaller every year.

We are all lucky enough to be living the most exciting time any human beings have ever lived in. With more and more successful people setting examples with philanthropic and charitable endeavors, I believe that more and more people will awake to the idea, that contributing to their fellow man is more affordable and easier to obtain earlier in life than ever before.

I know what direction I am going in giving back to the community, and helping my fellow man.

Cancer and heart disease kill more people every day than all other causes of death combined. When you die, it is more likely than not that you will die of cancer or heart disease than anything else. more than 50,000 people died from cancer and heart disease yesterday.

Once I discovered that the complete elimination and cure of both cancer and heart disease would only result in less than seven years of increase in life expectancy, I’m focusing my efforts on methods that may give us 8 years. Rather shocking isn’t it? Like some of the things that happened to me in my life it’s almost impossible to believe that curing cancer and curing heart disease is only worth an increase of 7 years. I thought it would be worth at least 50. The reason the increases in life expectancy are so low, even when you kill the top two killers of human beings on earth, is because cancer and heart disease are more functions of age than they are of anything else. You’ll find that among cancer and heart disease’s victims the most unifying factor amongst them is their age. Usually heart disease and cancer do not cause themselves, they have an external cause which is the image of the system in which the heart and the very cells we are made of operate in. Methods that improve the survivability of the system will resulted in the delay of these deadly diseases onset. Eating healthy, exercise, and medical treatments which improve the health of the system as a whole, and as such reduce the chances you’ll get cancer or have a heart attack.

That 7 year number is still a shocker to me. It warrants more explanation. It turns out that there is a multibillion dollar industry based on knowing exactly when a person just like you is going to die. This industry is called the life insurance industry. Their profit is directly tied to how accurate their estimation of your life expectancy is. As you can tell, they’re very good at it as their profits are consistent and vast. There is literally an actuarial table where the increase in life expectancy in years is charted bythe elimination of cause of death. It is interesting to experiment and look at what getting rid of different ailments and accidents does the number of years we can expect to live. I saved the actuarial table from the national Institute of health NIH.gov website, will link to it as soon as I find it.

Because of this discovery, that cancer and heart attacks are more a function of aging than they are a function of their own unique causes, that I want to get as much funding and attention as possible for solutions that have the ability to get us 8-15 years of healthy life, like slowing the aging process it’s self. The cost of a b-2 bomber is 2.2 billion dollars including development cost. The current budget of the US government to combat aging is 44 times less than the cost of 1 b-2 bomber! If we traded 1 b-2 bomber’s worth of money for real research into slowing the aging process, by just a little bit. We will live longer, happier, healthier lives.

Currently the side effects of combating heart disease and cancer are very very discomforting. There is nausea and discomfort of radiation, surgery, and the side effects of other current methods. The side effects of aging a little slower are better vision, better sex, better joints, better everything really.

In summary barely any federal or private money is spent in an area which has the ability to vastly enhance all of our lives in ways that even curing cancer and heart disease can’t. It is my job to change that. I am good at marketing, and believe that if more people came to know what I now know, we could get the scientists the funding they desperately need to show us some results in this area.

Anti-aging research particularly http://MPrize.org http://sens.org and distributed computing(especially http://www.WorldCommunityGrid.org ) (harnessing the power of hundreds of thousands of computers across the world with internet access to combine into a giant super computer that is used to cure diseases, predict global climate changes, and other great works that only several hundred million dollars worth of supercomputing can do. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_distributed_computing_projects) Using distributed computing we’re able to do with our networked home computers many millions of dollars of work per a year, as the combined computing power of the boinc network of distributed computing users exceeds that of the most powerful supercomputer in the world. (list of most powerful super computers in the world can be seen at http://www.top500.org)

When I had more computers my higest rank was #132 on 8-16-2006 on theworldcommunitygrid.com 98.735% percentile is pretty good. My username there is “charitylover” I have been a member since 6-6-2006. You can check my performance statistics in real time at http://boincstats.com/stats/user_graph.php?pr=wcg&id=2318 .

Distributed computing is a very easy and inexpensive way you can begin contributing editor at little cost to curing some of the most terrible ailments that we experience today.
